Off to Chicago & Dinner with Family

We left the Toledo East / Stony Ridge KOA in Perrysburg, OH with our GPS set for “Destination Benjamin” also known as Chicago, IL. We were actually headed for Hollywood Casino in Joliet, IL which has an onsite RV park. It was one of the closest campgrounds we could find to the city of Chicago. We will give you more details in our full campground review at the end of our stay here. We spent almost the entire trip from Pennslyvania to Illinois driving in the rain. Luckily there were only a handful of times where it was super heavy rainfall, but still not good driving weather! We had to avoid some puddles and mud along our site, but got set up quickly and without issue at the campgrund. About an hour after we arrived, my sister (Krista), brother-in-law (Jim), and nephew (Ben) came to visit bearing gifts of dinner AND dessert! Thanks guys - it was all delicious, especially the Black Bean Soup and Zucchini Oat Chocolate Chip Cookies! Russ even got spoiled by my sister with lots of gluten free goodies!

It was great having them visit our “house”! Living in 429 square feet makes hide and seek games a little more interesting in locating places to hide, but that didn’t stop Ben and us from having a fun time playing! I will have to work on my hiding spots before our next round. Nothing is better than little kid giggles! We went for a walk around the campground before calling it a night.
