An Easy Travel Day
We left Gotta Getaway RV Park a few minutes before 9 AM this morning. Not having to deal with any surprise issues, we have been packing up quicker with “Charlie” than we typically did with Calvan (our old camper). Yahoo!
Thanks to my mom & dad for saving the day when I realized I forgot my prescription sunglasses on the table at the restaurant we enjoyed last night, Bone Boys BBQ. They drove all the way back to the restaurant today to pick them up for me. Have I told you how wonderful my mom & dad are? Seriously, they are the very best! If you are reading this mom & dad - I love you!
While on that topic – I loved that I got to see my mom & dad again yesterday. They drove up to tour our new “home” and we enjoyed a local BBQ joint. Russ & my dad couldn’t resist the Burnt Ends on the menu and after being told they sometimes run out of things, they joked about who would order first in case they were running low! My mom & I enjoyed pulled pork baked potatoes that were the size of our heads. Everything was tasty, but my favorite thing was the sweet & hot pickle slices in which I think my mom would agree!
After a quick jaunt across the Ohio & Pennslyvania Turnpikes, we arrived at Friendship Village Campground for another one night stay. We are really looking forward to getting to Delaware and setting up for 2 weeks. We are definitely not a fan of this one night here, one night there and never getting to explore the area we are staying. We do realize sometimes it will be necesssary to get from Point A to Point B quickly, but certainly will plan to stay in one place for a few weeks or even months when possible!
Charlie also had some firsts today, including his first trip to Pennsylvania and his first tunnel. Russ said Charlie wasn't particularly a fan of the tunnel!
We were planning on having dinner at home, but upon opening the Gluten Free Near Me app our plans changed quickly. We had to check this place out - Live 2 Eat Bistro! It deserves its own post - so don’t skip the next few posts. It’s will be a tasty one!
