Campground Review: Green River Resort
Green River Resort is one of several campgrounds located in Campbellsville, Kentucky. When we accepted our job with Amazon CamperForce, we were provided with a list of campgrounds that Amazon works with to provide the CamperForce associates with a campsite. Green River Resort is the 2nd closest campground to the Amazon fulfillment center. We were lucky enough to get the last site that was available in the campground. While the campground has everything you need right onsite, the name is a bit deceiving. Not sure I would call it a “resort”. Maybe in the summer the campground is a bit more resort-like as the pool and patio areas would be open. It is a relatively small campground with about 50 full hook-up, back-in gravel sites. We also found it strange that the sites did not have picnic tables. The sites were very close together so don’t plan on spreading out too much. This might be the reason they don’t have picnic tables. The bathrooms are very nice and not your typical campground bathrooms with tile showers and decorative wooden stall doors. The laundry room has 4 washers and 4 dryers making laundry day quick and painless. Plus at $1.00/cycle - it is super cheap! They do have a small cafe/restaurant/pizza place that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There isn’t a whole lot to do in the small town of Campbellsville, Kentucky, but it does serve as a good central home-base if you are looking to explore various areas of Kentucky while parked in one spot. You can get to Louisville, Lexington, and Bowling Green in less than 2 hours. Lake Cumberland and Nashville are all drivable distances as well. Green River Resort is located right beside Green River State Park which is a lovely state park to explore when in the area.
