ICED Auction & Turning In the Keys
I took a little break between Christmas & New Year’s from going over to the cupcake store that needed to be cleared out. I read a couple books within a few days. It was glorious to have the time to actually sit and read, what a foreign concept! I am looking forward to making more time for reading in the future. During that week, we were trying to figure out the best way to get rid of all the stuff from the bakery - equipment, kitchen supplies, cupcake supplies, tables & chairs, everything really! While we might have been able to sell the big items - we knew we wouldn't be able to sell all the little stuff quickly. We had until the end of February when our lease was going to end. We contacted an auction company and went from there. That was such a great decision. The auction was last Monday and it went really, really well. I had everything sorted and organized. They displayed it that morning and we had a great turnout of interested buyers! Almost every item had several bidders. The proceeds exceeded our estimates. They sold every last item including the pens & pencils in my desk drawers! The best part was that 90% of the stuff was out of the building by the end of the day. A few of the bigger items (walk-in cooler, exhaust hood, granite countertops) were picked up by the end of the week.
I turned in the keys to the cupcake store today - it was a really great feeling. I certainly wouldn’t trade the last 3 1/2 years at our cupcake store in the train station for anything, but new adventures await….
If you in the Philadelphia suburbs and looking for an auction company for business or personal items, I would highly recommend Porter Auction Group! It was the perfect solution to auction off the contents off our bakery. After a quick search on the internet, we gave Porter Auction Group a call. Ed responded quickly and met onsite to get the process started. Everything was dealt with in a very professional and organized manner. He worked hard to advertise the sale and get the information to the right buyers. On the day of the auction, Ed and his team were there very early to display auction items in an aesthetically pleasing way. Each of the employees on site was able to answer any questions we had. Ed kept the auction running quickly and smoothly. He was able to read the crowd well and added just the right amount of humor as he was auctioning off items. At the end of the day, we were extremely pleased with our decision to work with Porter Auction Group. Ed was there to help every step of the way!
