Campground Review: Drummer Boy Camp Resort - Gettysburg, PA
We had heard lots of people talk about Drummer Boy Camp Resort, but had never been there ourselves. When we also found it listed in our Big-Rig Friendly Campground book, we decided it was time to plan a visit. We booked a week and it happened to also be the week the SOITC Rally was been held at that very campground. It’s funny how things work out like that. We enjoyed the campground. It literally sits right along Route 15 which is a a good and bad thing! It’s proximity to U.S. Route 15 makes it super easy to get to. However, some of the sites are probably only 25 feet away from the road. Make sure to stay away from those sites if possible. The Big Rig friendly sites are in the back of the campground and much quieter. Most sites are shaded which making it a nice choice in the summer months. All of the roads are gravel which makes for a dusty mess when vehicles drive by. If you are looking to do some site seeing in the Gettysburg area, this is a great place to stay. Very convenient to downtown Gettysburg, the visitor’s center, and battlefield!
UPDATE: We stayed at Drummer Boy Camp Resort again August 25 - September 1, 2016. We actually thought we booked the same site as last time, but we ended up being one site over. Still a great site in the Big Rig friendly section.
