Catching Up With Dear Friends

After a week in Gettysburg our next stop was Bethpage Camp Resort in Urbanna, VA. While we were excited about seeing the campground in person after seeing so many of their displays at a multitude of RV shows, we were even more thrilled about some time to relax with our friends Jay & Karen. They are workamping at the resort this summer and they were able to give us a grand tour and a lowdown of the resort. We will review the campground in its entirety in the official “Campground Review” post at the end of our stay.

They are enjoying themselves and have this lovely little corner lot to call home through Labor Day. Not sure if it is coincidence or not, but they have the closest spot to the ice cream store. Winner Winner, Ice Cream Dinner! I would be lying to say that we ate their once because the truth is we hit up the ice cream store a total of 3 times. Not bad until we tell you we were only at the campground 4 nights! YOLO right??

They celebrate over dinner with other workkampers each week with Mexican Mondays and we had the pleasure of joining them at the local Mexican restaurant just down the street. We also enjoyed some waterfront dining at Urbanna Seafood Co. It was definitely off the beaten path, but we enjoyed a lovely, fresh seafood-themed meal. Okay, I may have had chicken, but Russ throughly enjoyed his bacon-wrapped scallops. It was a lovely temperature for some great afternoon eats with friends. 

We had several evenings of chatting around the campfire which is always soothing to the soul, but not the legs (Why mosquitos and no-seeums why??). Thanks for the hospitality Jay & Karen. It is always so very wonderful to see you guys!
