Campground Review: Washington DC / Capitol KOA

Our trip to the Washington DC / Capitol KOA was another overnight stop on our way to our family camping trip in Delaware. We decided on this location to get us fairly close to our destination of The Resort at Massey’s Landing tomorrow. We arrived shortly after lunch time and were able to check-in right away. At first glance, we thought we may have trouble getting into our site, but it didn’t take much work at all once we found a place to cut through with the truck. Most of the sites are pull-thru with some longer in length than others. Make sure to let the front desk know the total length of your rig when you call. There are different levels of hookups - some with just water/electric, some with full hookups. We were able to get a site with 30 amp service and water which was plenty for just the evening. We enjoyed a quick swim at the pool which was a perfect temperature for a dip to cool off. There is also a playground, basketball court, jumbo outdoor chess set, and a really cool jumping pillow. I would certainly recommend the campground if you wanted to be in the area to visit either Baltimore or Washington DC. They do run a shuttle to DC (I believe it is $13.50/person - definitely check prior to arrival for details on the shuttle).
