2016 Tampa RV SuperShow
This was our first RV Show where we weren’t looking to buy. Suddenly, it was more about products, ideas, color schemes, jobs, and campgrounds. While the Tampa RV SuperShow was always on our radar, the warm weather was what truly drew us to the show year after year. It had become a tradition with our friends Jay & Karen! It was nice to be able to attend the show during the week when foot traffic was not too bad. It was a chilly day for the show, but still much warmer than our life in Pennsylvania. With each RV show we attend, our focus narrows and we know which things we want to focus our time on. We visited with Gregg from RVHaulers at the New Horizons area. It was nice chatting with him about our camper that was on his property in Calgary. He gave us an tentative delivery schedule for our new home he would be delivering to us in conjunction with the RV Hauler, Storm being purchased by our friends Randy & Joanna in Malvern, PA.
We spent time talking to vendors about products we were considering adding to our trailer – MORryde Suspension, BigFoot Leveling, MCD Shades. We also gathered some information from Mike’s Custom Painting from Bremen, Indiana as we plan to get our 5th wheel and truck painted sometime this year. That led us into paying attention to all the exterior color schemes on the thousands of trailers that surrounded us! We didn’t find the perfect design, but it made us both aware of what we like and don’t like. They were all too busy and colorful for our liking. Apparently, we are both very boring people!
Our friends Jay & Karen had already signed a contract to work at BethPage Camp Resort this summer, so we were able to stop by the campground’s booth and meet the owners and some of the people they would be working with this season. It looks like a gorgeous campground and we look forward to visiting them this summer. We of course will do a Campground Review detailing our stay. If you are already planning to visit there this summer, make sure to pester (I mean, ask for) Jay & Karen!
After spending a day at the Tampa RV SuperShow looking at all sorts of campers (travel trailers, fifth wheels, & motorhomes), we still felt confident about the camper we purchased. If money was no object, we certainly could have found a delightful new home that day. However, since we did not win the huge PowerBall drawing the ones that peaked our interest the most, were not in our price range! We are looking forward to our trailer that is built well to arrive and spend some money to make it just the way we want it.
Of course, we made sure to spend a day at the beach and sneak in a wonderful visit with Russ’ nephew Jason and his lovely girlfriend Christine! We look forward to spending more time in the Tampa/St. Pete area in the future. Bye Bye Sunshine – Back to the Frozen Tundra of Pennsylvania….
