Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

While checking on the weather on a local TV station, Russ caught word of a National Pro Fastpitch Softball game taking place nearby this evening. The PA Rebellion was taking on the Akron Racers.  With the lovely weather forecasted today, we decided to hit up the stands for an evening at the ballpark. We were practically sitting on the field – the kind of seats you would have to sell a sibling for at a MLB game. While we weren’t overly impressed by the talent, it was their first game of the season so who are we to judge!!

The game was held at the York Revolution Minor League Baseball Stadium. It was a great stadium without a bad seat in the house. While we didn’t treat ourselves to any treats – I did catch a whiff of funnel cake (love!) and saw some tasty ice cream cones prancing around in happy fans hands. Even though it was not a York Revolution game, their mascot “Downtown” was in full entertainment mode- funny lil’ fellow! The Akron Racers walked away with a 9-3 win (GO OHIO)! I still do love the speed of a softball game in comparison to a baseball games. Those girls don’t mess around! It was a fun outing and we were glad the meteorologist mentioned the game on the news this morning!

We still need to get in the habit of checking out these types of cool local events! Anyone have any great resources they can recommend to find out events/festivals/activities that are going on in the area?
